Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — And She Has Good News

The much-anticipated second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been widespread.

Season 1 introduces a diverse group of personalities living within Hell and Heaven, pits them against each other accompanied by songs about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that drive fan obsession.

The community's expectations for season 2 vary widely, but certain themes recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Naturally, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented earlier this year. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I want some of these things to occur, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She says her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by the production companies, which finance the series.

That might mean viewers have to wait years for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens now.

"I believe people are going to be highly satisfied," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we receive some incredible disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the characters we didn't get to hear before."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people make a prediction grid about season 2," she mentions. "Naturally I won't share it, but I've already completed a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that makes me happy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on the streaming service on October 29.
