The star has donated the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound award prize money to the trust for venues, which works to preserve the Britain's independent live music spots.
The star was awarded the prize on 16 October as his third album the album was named the top album of the last 12 months.
The musician has decided to hand the money over to the MVT, in appreciation of the crucial part grassroots venues fulfilled in his initial steps.
"As an artist couldn't be pursuing my current career if it hadn't been for all the gigs I played around the region, and elsewhere, when I was beginning," said Sam Fender. "These locations are renowned, but they are struggling."
From early 2023 onward, over 150 of these locations have permanently closed – approximately 16% of the total UK scene.
In the last year, well-known musicians such as Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all backed the MVT in its efforts to help venues survive, by applying a modest fee to their admission fees, which benefits smaller concert halls.
Sam Fender also took part, generating more than £100,000 on his recent tour to help thirty-eight local spots across England, Scotland, and Wales.
These funds supported locations that were confronting possible closure due to issues caused by flooding, fire incidents and family tragedies, as well as licensing issues, court cases and neighbor objections.
Additional spaces received funding support in improving infrastructure and gear that positively impacted artists and concertgoers.
"The concept that funds from concerts in major spaces helps the smaller venues, where it all starts for artists like me, is just sensible," Fender has said.
Fender is far from the only musician to give his honor prize money to worthy causes.
In Pulp earned the trophy in the mid-90s for their release their work, frontman Cocker announced that the band would donate their winnings to the non-profit War Child.
That year, musician the artist split her prize between a few organizations, such as the children's charity and a Sickle Cell charity.
"And I gave a thousand pounds to the center, to their classes, because I practiced gymnastics when I was a child and they needed better apparatus," she told outlets.
In recent years, the band gave their funds to the community center that nurtured their group, alongside other independent music bodies.
And the 1994 recipients the group gave their award to a charity for MS after a close contact was diagnosed the illness.
"Receiving the award was sufficient," remarked vocalist the singer. "The cash was the cherry on top but we didn't require the extra, because we had the cake. So our winning touched another person's life."
In the past week, the MVT shared it had rescued two grassroots venues in south-east England, by transferring them to local control.
The first in the city and The Croft in the city were purchased under the community ownership scheme, which is supported by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who acquire "ownership units" in the venues.
